Accounts suspended for cleanup.
Accounts affected by the “best video” exploit have been suspended for cleanup and will be restored shortly. Don’t worry, they’ll be back!

No matter how good that “best video” looks, don’t go to any juste.ru domains. We’re aware of the situation and are working on it.
Update: We do not believe that anyone’s personal information was compromised as a result of this outbreak; suspended accounts should be cleaned and restored soon.
Unable to create new accounts
We’re working to fix the bug with new account creation. It’s due to a change we made earlier today to the CAPTCHA on signup.
Update (6:06p): This has now been fixed.
Working through site latency
The site is much slower than is acceptable and our team has identified the underlying problem. We’ve been working to fix that and will keep at it until performance has improved.
Recovering from unplanned downtime
We’ve had elevated errors this morning and for the past 10 minutes have been down for many users. We’re working to recover right now.
Update (12:33p): Site stability has been improving and we’re making additional changes that should help to improve the speed and responsiveness of twitter.com in response to the outage earleir. Our apologies for the unplanned downtime.
Phishing scam
We are currently pushing a password reset on accounts we believe may have been caught in a phishing scam. Please exercise your best judgment when thinking about releasing your username and password to third parties.

Fixing Robot errors
Many users are getting errors when visiting twitter.com and we’re working to fix the underlying problem.

Fixing problem with tweets delivered via SMS
Some users may have unexpectedly received tweets via SMS. As a reminder, you can always turn off delivery of tweets via SMS by sending OFF from your phone to the Twitter shortcode.

Planned maintenance on Wednesday noon Pacific
Tomorrow, Wednesday May 13 we will be continuing the database maintenance work we began last Friday. We will be taking all Twitter services offline for one hour beginining at noon Pacific.
We are begining this work earlier in the day to ensure that we have the full resources of our team to respond to any problems that might arise. Thanks for your understanding.

Password reset emails not working, fix on the way
Users are currently unable to reset passwords due to a bug in the email sent. We’ll be getting a fix out for this as soon as possible.

We’re back from a successful maintenance window. We’re working through some residual issues with site latency. The site will appear slow until we resolve this.
Planned maintenance tomorrow, Monday
We’re planning a significant database upgrade that will greatly increase system performance. To do this, we will require two planned maintenance windows: Friday, May 8th from 2p-3p Pacific and again on Monday, May 11th from Noon-1p Pacific.
