Viewing other people's followers and followings...
Due to a bug, you cannot view the pages that show another person’s followers or followings. We’ll have this fixed up as soon as we can.
Update (10:47a): This has been fixed.
Search results temporarily disabled from logged-in...
We’ve had to temporarily disable search results from the logged-in homepage of twitter.com (this includes the saved searches and trends shown in the sidebar). We’re working on the underlying problem and will bring back these features as soon as we can.
You can still search Twitter and see the latest trends at search.twitter.com.
Update (10:43p): This issue has been resolved.
Update on follower/following problems
The upgrades we performed earlier today were successful. This will allow us to catch up on the delayed following and follower actions that have caused a lot of inconsistency over the last several days.
We anticipate that this catch-up period will last for at least another 6-12 hours and during that time inconsistencies will persist. This means that if you follow someone right now or are followed...
Upgrades planned to address follower/following...
We’re planning a series of important upgrades tomorrow to address the issues we posted about previously today. We are making these changes as quickly as we can, however, inconsistencies with followers and following actions will persist until later in the day tomorrow.
Follower/Following delays
We’re working to reduce the amount of time it takes for new follower/followings to take effect. Right now, after you follow or unfollow someone it may take some time for that action to be properly recorded and propagated throughout the system. As a result, you may run into discrepancies such as:
follower and following counts are off
new followings not showing up in your timeline
seeing...
Improving following and follower infrastructure
Over the next 24 hours we will be rolling out a major performance enhancement to our system that maintains following and follower relationships.
In recent weeks, following and unfollowing actions did not always take effect. As we roll out this change, these past actions will be honored, so you may see small adjustments to your followings and followers.
SMS delivery issues
We are currently experiencing SMS delivery delays: Verizon users are not receiving SMS updates. We are working with our SMS partners to restore speedy delivery.

Working to get new users into Find People
Our people search tool is not currently indexing the accounts of new users. We’re working to resolve this.
Update (6/17 10:22a): Newer accounts are once again appearing in Find People.
Maintenance window tonight, 9:45p Pacific
We will have 90 minutes of maintenance starting tonight at 9:45p Pacific. Critical network upgrades will be performed during this time.

Search delay
New tweets are not being served by Twitter Search. We expect this problem to continue for an hour or so before it is resolved.
Update (5:50p): Search has been fixed.

We are currently experiencing SMS delivery delays: Sprint users are not receiving SMS updates, and users of other providers may not receive updates sent within the past hour. We are working with our SMS partners to restore speedy delivery.

Maintenance on help site, username changes...
Our help site will be down for maintenance starting around midnight Pacific. During this downtime, the Accounts tab of Settings will be temporarily disabled. Users will be unable to change their usernames or email address during this time.

We will be down for one hour of planned maintenance tomorrow, Friday, June 5th from 8p to 9p Pacific.
Update: The maintenance was successful and we are back up!
Delayed followings
Due to a side effect of combating a current spam attack, followings and unfollowings are currently delayed by about 30 minutes. We expect this behavior to return to normal subsecond delay within the next hour or so.
All tweets credited as coming from web
For the past couple days, all tweets have been credited as coming from “web” as opposed to the clients that actually created them. We’ve been working on the fix for this problem and it should be pushed very soon.
Update: This has been fixed.
Trouble updating profile settings
Many users are currently unable to update their profile images, background images, and device settings; and new users in particular may have trouble logging in. We are working on these problems presently and will update this status with our progress.
