Working on Tweet delivery delays
We are investigating the source of tweet delivery delays this morning.
Update (10:51a): We’ve temporarily disabled lists and local trends as we further diagnose the delay problem.
Update (11:10a): The delivery issue has improved and lists, local trends and name search remain temporarily disabled. Some users will also not receive delivery of tweets via SMS.

Flash widget disabled
We’ve been notified about a vulnerability in our Flash widget and out of an abundance of caution we’ve disabled access as we assess the situation. Please note that the javascript widgets are unaffected and are a good alternative for those of you who had been using the Flash version.

Extremely high volume of whales
We are experiencing an outage due to an extremely high number of whales. Our on-call team is working on a fix.
Update (5:18a): We are recovering from this incident. A sudden failure coupled with problems in switching to a backup system produced a high number of errors for around 90 minutes. This made the site largely inaccessible. No data was lost or compromised during this outage.
SMS delivery temporarily disabled
We have temporarily disabled the SMS delivery of tweets. We are continuing to work on a fix for the misdelivery problem noted earlier and will turn the service back on as soon as this is resolved.
Update (11:47p): This issue has now been fixed. Both updating from SMS and receiving messages via SMS should work as expected.
Recovered from tweet delivery problem
Earlier this evening, users would have noticed missing tweets in their timelines. We have now recovered from this problem and timelines will be updated normally.
Investigating SMS delivery issues
Some users are reporting that they are receiving @mentions delivered via SMS from accounts that they have not turned SMS on for.
Update: This issue has been resolved
Update (9:22p): We’re still working on a fix for this problem - it has not yet been fully resolved.
Update (11:48p): Both receiving messages via SMS and sending tweets via SMS should now work as expected.
Intermittent SMS connectivity with AT&T
We are investigating reports of problems sending and receiving SMS messages on the AT&T network.
