Timeline delays this morning 1 month ago

We are currently investigating a problem causing many users’ timelines to be delayed. We will update with status here shortly.

Update (10:50a): Timelines remain stale for users. We are deploying fixes to address the problem.

Update (12:27p): This issue has been resolved and timelines are updating normally once again.

Update (12:54p): The problems this morning were caused by a bug triggered by an edge case in one of the core services that powers Twitter. We have already fixed this bug and are making additional optimizations based on what we learned.

Most users are seeing freshly updated timelines. However, due to the previous problems, users of our SMS service may experience some missing tweets.

Recovering from unplanned downtime 1 month ago

We’re currently diagnosing the causes of an unplanned site outage that happened a few minutes ago. We are recovering from this issue now and apologize for the interruption in service.

Trouble with user and background images 1 month ago

We’re having an issue with disappearing user and background images. Those affected will have their custom images replaced by defaults. This is due to a caching error on our side which means that your images are not lost and have not been deleted. They are not displaying correctly and we are working to get them to load properly.
